Libyan Parliament spokesman Abdullah Bhelig welcomed Wednesday Egypt’s foreign ministry statement on ways to end Libyan crisis.

“Putting an end to the foreign interference, and armed militias support as well as fighting terrorism, and extremism are Libya’s only bridge towards stability and the unification of its institutions,” Bhelig said.

Moreover, the spokesman called on the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to work on these constants that would end the Libyan crisis, stressing that there is no place for terrorists and extremists in Libya.

In addition, Bhelig expressed gratitude to the Egyptian leadership, government and people on their supportive stances towards the Libyan people in all the troubles experienced by them.

Noteworthy, in a statement issued Tuesday, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry praised the humanitarian truce announced recently by the Libyan parties on the occasion of Eid al-Adha , considering it a step on the right path towards the possibility of building trust among them.

It also reiterated that political solution is the only way out of Libya's crisis.

Earlier this month, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi announced Cairo's rejection of all foreign interference in Libya's domestic affairs during a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron.

El-Sisi affirmed Egypt's support to the efforts exerted by the Libyan National Army (LNA) in fighting terrorism and eliminating terrorist organizations which pose a threat to territorial security and the Mediterranean.
