On Thursday evening, the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation announced that the building of the Libyan military attaché in Khartoum had been subjected to an armed attack.

The ministry condemned the attack, which caused material damage to the building, noting that members of the Libyan diplomatic mission had already been evacuated from their premises in the Sudanese capital and returned to Libya.

The Libyan Foreign Ministry called on all relevant Sudanese authorities to pursue those who prove to be involved in this criminal act that harms brotherly relations and violates the Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations, as well as all laws and customs governing diplomatic work between states, which require providing protection for embassies and diplomatic missions.

At the same time, the Libyan Foreign Ministry renewed its condemnation of "the repeated attacks on the premises of some diplomatic missions of several countries in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum," expressing its solidarity and full support for the victims in Sudan and continuing to encourage all parties to the Sudanese crisis to prevail the language of dialogue and solve outstanding problems peacefully to ensure stability and prosperity in Sudan.
