On Monday, the Libyan National Center for Disease Control reported 158 new coronavirus cases and three deaths, bringing the total number of cases in Libya to more than 2,827 and a death toll of 64.
The center said in a statement that 24 patients have recovered while two died.
The center said the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Libya so far is 2,827, including 577 recoveries and 64 deaths.

A series of protective measures against the pandemic have been taken by the Libyan authorities since the first case was announced in March, including closing the country’s borders, closing schools and mosques, banning public gatherings, and imposing a curfew.
China donated medical supplies, including nucleic acid diagnostic kits and masks, to Libya in June to help the country fight against the pandemic.
Several Arab countries have tightened restrictions on movement, and travel with the aim of curbing the spread of the virus.
Trillions of dollars have been pledged in economic stimulus packages around the world to reduce the economic repercussions of the crisis.
Globally, it is worth mentioning that, more cases of the virus, which causes respiratory disease coronavirus, continue to emerge, with outbreaks in South Korea, Italy, and Iran.

Transmission of virus between humans happens when someone comes into contact with an infected person’s secretions, such as droplets in a cough.
It can also be transmitted by coming into contact with something an infected person has touched and then touching your mouth, nose or eyes.
