On Sunday, Libya’s National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) announced it had found 465 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total infections to 13,423

In statement, the NCDC also reported a death case, raising the death toll to 232 fatalities in the country.

In Libya, the tally of recovered cases increased to 1,410 after 77 new ones, the highest number in a single day since the outbreak of the disease, were registered.

More than 25 million cases have been reported worldwide, while over 17.5 million patients have recovered, according to figures compiled by the US’ Johns Hopkins University.

People across the globe partake in self-isolation for 14 days as an effective precautionary measure to protect those around them and themselves from contracting COVID-19.

Transmission of viruses between humans happens when someone comes into contact with an infected person’s secretions, such as droplets in a cough.
