The Libyan Airlines announced resuming its flights to Cairo International Airport starting from tomorrow, Saturday.
The company’s first flights from the Mitiga International Airport are scheduled to arrive at Terminal 1 known as the old airport at Cairo International Airport, the national flag carrier said on Friday.
Flights will arrive amid strict precautionary measures to limit the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the Delta variants.
The Egyptian authorities received a letter from Libyan Airlines, confirming the arrival of its first flight tomorrow, Saturday, according to sources from Cairo International Airport.
The sources noted that the next flight will be an Airbus 330, flight number LN 202, with 255 passengers. Then, it will depart immediately after landing at the airport, flight number 203, along with 250 passengers, returning to Mitiga International Airport.
Also, the sourced said the Libyan airlines asked Cairo airport to prepare celebrations for the arrival of the first flight, through water salute, a procedure that is accepted for the opening of new airlines, or the resumption of flights after a long pause, which is an international custom.
