“Liberty Lady”.. Statue From Heart of Beirut Crisis

A group of Lebanese activists revealed a memorial under the name of the “Revolution Bride” to celebrate the one year anniversary of the October 17th, 2019 protests that led to the resigning of the Saad Hariri government. The activists announced that the statue is named “Liberty Lady” was born from the heart of the Beirut crisis and was placed in the Beirut explosion pier.

The “Liberty Lady” statue was made from some of the debris of the Beirut explosion that happened back in August and is the creation of a number of Lebanese artists.

The statue is made of some broken glass, metal pieces and dust. It also has a clock that was stopped at the exact time of the explosion 6:08 on August 4th, 2020. The statue was raised next to the revolution flame that was lit last Saturday in the presence of the patriotic Lebanese people from all around Lebanon.

Many Lebanese celebrities commented about the “Liberty Lady” statue including Elissa who said “Our Lady Liberty made from the Beirut pier broken glass”.
