Robert Lewandowski has officially announced that he will leave Barcelona at the end of the 2025–26 season, bringing an end to his successful spell with the Catalan club.
The Polish striker shared an emotional farewell message on Instagram shortly after Barcelona secured the La Liga title with a 2–0 victory over Real Madrid in the 35th round of the season.
“After four years full of challenges and hard work, the time has come to say goodbye,” Lewandowski wrote. “I leave feeling that the mission has been accomplished. Four seasons and three titles. I will never forget the love I received from the fans from my very first days. Catalonia is my place on this earth.”
He also thanked Barcelona president Joan Laporta for giving him the opportunity to experience “one of the greatest chapters” of his career.
According to reports from The Athletic and other media outlets, Saudi club Al Hilal have already made a huge offer worth €90 million per season in an attempt to convince the veteran striker to join the Saudi Pro League.
Polish journalist Jarosław Koliński reported that Al Hilal are currently the most serious club pursuing the 37-year-old, with initial talks already taking place between the player’s representatives and the Saudi side.
Reports also suggest that Lewandowski is open to a new experience outside Europe, particularly amid expected tactical changes at Barcelona next season.
Despite preparing to leave the club, Lewandowski recently achieved another historic milestone in Spanish football, reaching 100 goal contributions in La Liga with 81 goals and 19 assists. At 37 years and 247 days old, he became the oldest player in the 21st century to achieve the feat in the Spanish top flight.
