French club Nice is close to announcing in the coming hours the official signing of Mohamed Abdel Moneim, Al-Ahly and national team defender, according to French reports issued Thursday morning.
The French newspaper L'Equipe revealed that Mohamed Abdel Moneim will participate in Nice's training today, Thursday, at the latest, after the medical examination and signing the contracts officially in the coming hours.
The newspaper added that Mohamed Abdel Moneim, Al-Ahly defender, arrived in France to undergo the medical examination, complete all procedures and officially announce the deal.
Abdel Moneim had completed the travel procedures to France to sign for Nice, after the officials of the Red Castle and their counterparts in Nice completed the details of the deal during the current summer transfer period.
Nice welcomed Al-Ahly's request to change the payment system for the deal, which amounts to 4 million and 300 thousand euros. The French club initially offered to pay the amount in 4 installments over 3 years, which Al-Ahly rejected, so Nice backed down from the offer and decided to pay the amount in two installments.
Al-Ahly agreed with Nice in the past hours to pay the first installment of the deal value currently, which is 2 million and 400 thousand euros, while the second installment will be paid next summer, which is 1 million and 900 thousand, in addition to paying one million euros to Al-Ahly, in the form of a "bonus" regarding the player's participation and contributions in scoring and creating goals, in addition to a 10% resale percentage.
The past few days witnessed intensive contacts between Al-Ahly and Nice to complete the deal, and the French club began its financial offer with 2 million euros, while Al-Ahly's demands were initially 6 million euros until the final details were agreed upon that clinched the deal.
