Legendary Yehia Khalil Starts Winter Season by 3 Concerts

Egyptian jazz musician Yehia Khalil performed his first winter season's concert on Thursday at Cairo Opera House.

Khalil will perform another concert on Saturday and another one at Alexandria's Opera House on October 31.

During the concert, he played several tracks and compositions at the request of the audience.

One of the audience asked him to come to Lebanon to perform there, Khalil told her that he would come very soon.

In Summer, the legendary jazz musician travels to the United States, Italy, France, Russia, Austria, Greece, Nigeria, South Africa, and other countries to play in concerts there.

The King of Jazz, as his fans fondly call him, lived in Chicago in the 1960s and 70s, after joining the American Music Conservatory for two years.

He played with many well-known international musicians, including Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jeff Bush, and Ginger Baker before returning to Egypt.
