Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Monday, that continuing fighting and attacks on civilian  in Karabakh after Armenia and Azerbaijan representatives have met in Moscow, is unacceptable.

Lavrov said in a press conference after his talks with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Marija Pejčinović Burić, in Moscow: "The important step, which must be taken in conjunction with the cessation of offensive speech, is the cessation of hostilities and the cessation of attacks on civilian targets, which is the same demand issued in the statement of France, United States and Russia presidents, as leaders of the Minsk Group of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe".

"This is also found in the (Moscow document), which was concluded with our assistance by the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia on October 10, and the same was confirmed in the document that they agreed upon on October 18, in an attempt to put the bloodshed to an end." he added.

"After the meeting in Moscow, our hopes were not fulfilled, as hostilities continued, and strikes continued on civilian infrastructure (in Karabakh), and this is unacceptable." Lavrov continued.

Azerbaijan and Armenia exchanged accusations about violating the latest ceasefire, on Sunday, hours after they reached a new ceasefire agreement in the Nagorno-Karabakh region.

The two sides agreed on a new "humanitarian truce" in the region, starting at midnight on Saturday local time, according to the two countries' foreign ministers.
