Lady Gaga has postponed the release of her sixth studio album, "Chromatica", which was slated to arrive on April 10, due to Coronavirus.

She revealed that she will announce a new "2020 release date" soon.

Gaga had also postponed last week her Vegas shows at MGM, which was set for late April and early May.

"Chromatica" will be her first studio release since 2016's "Joanne."

Gaga announced the news on social media in a lengthy statement, explaining:  “This is such a hectic and scary time for all of us, and while I believe art is one the strongest things we have to provide joy and healing to each other during times like this, it just doesn’t feel right to me to release this album with all that is going on during this global pandemic.”

It is worth mentioning that the World Health Organization (WHO) declared coronavirus a global pandemic on March 11 as the new virus has rapidly spread to more than 121,000 people from Asia to the Middle East, Europe, and the United States.

More cases of the virus, which causes respiratory disease Covid-19, continue to emerge, with outbreaks in South Korea, Italy, and Iran.

The data collected so far showed that at least 428,217 people are infected and about 19,101 people have died.

Transmission of viruses between humans happens when someone comes into contact with an infected person’s secretions, such as droplets in a cough.

They can also be transmitted by coming into contact with something an infected person has touched and then touching your mouth, nose or eyes.

It is known that older people appear to be more vulnerable to the effects of the emerging virus.
