On Wednesday, Kuwait expressed its solidarity with Egypt and Sudan in their tireless efforts to preserve regional stability, and to solve the crisis of filling and operating the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), in a way that preserves the downstream countries’ rights in water in accordance with international laws, and in a way that enables these countries to achieve their ambitions for development.
In a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kuwait stressed that “the water security of Egypt and Sudan is an integral part of the Arab national security,” affirming its support for the efforts aimed at ending crisis of the Renaissance Dam file while taking into account the interests of all parties.
