Kuwaiti government decided on Monday lifting the partial curfew, imposed across the country, on the first day of Eid Al-Fitr.

The official spokesman of the government Tareq Al Mezram said at a press conference that the decision will take into effect as of 1:00 am on the first day of Eid.

Other decisions taken by the Cabinet are:

  • All commercial establishments will be shut down from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am the next day.
  • Pharmacies, supermarkets, healthcare providers, restaurants, cafes, and maintenance services will be excluded from the decision.
  • Cinemas and theatres will be open in Eid for those who have been vaccinated only.
  • Restaurants and cafes will be allowed to receive orders but only for takeaways at their doorstep.

On the other hand, the country has suspended flights, and barred entry to travelers, from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka until further notice to try to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

To enter Kuwait from the four countries, people must have been in another country for at least 14 days beforehand, the Cabinet said.
