Kuwait has announced plans to introduce new amendments to the country's citizenship law.

According to statements from a senior government official published by Al-Qabas newspaper, the proposed changes are designed to address ongoing issues surrounding Kuwaiti nationality.

The official source highlighted that a number of key modifications to the citizenship law would be revealed in the coming days.

These changes are being closely overseen by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Youssef.

The goal of the amendments is to strengthen national unity and ensure that the application of citizenship law aligns with the state's broader interests.

The Kuwaiti authorities stirred controversy recently when they announced the revocation of citizenship for 1,647 individuals as part of a preliminary step before presenting the final decision to the Cabinet.

Among those affected by this decision were prominent figures such as actor Dawood Hussein and singer Nawal Al-Kuwaiti, sparking public debate.

In a related development, the authorities revealed that in November alone, 4,112 people had their citizenship revoked.

On November 14, 1,535 individuals lost their nationality, followed by another 930 people on the 7th of the same month.
