Kuwait SC have officially appointed Portuguese coach Alexandre Santos as the club's new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 season, ending speculation over a potential move to Egyptian side Zamalek.
The Kuwaiti club confirmed the appointment on Tuesday through its official X account, posting a photo of Santos alongside a welcome message announcing the completion of the deal.
Santos takes charge of Kuwait SC as the club looks to strengthen its technical staff and continue competing for domestic and continental titles during the upcoming campaign.
The Portuguese coach has built a strong reputation during his managerial career, most notably with Morocco's AS FAR, where he enjoyed a successful spell and established himself as one of the most sought after foreign coaches in the region.
His appointment is expected to boost Kuwait SC's ambitions of maintaining their status among the country's top clubs while challenging for silverware on all fronts.
Santos had been strongly linked with the vacant head coaching position at Zamalek in recent weeks. However, his decision to join Kuwait SC instead is expected to force the Egyptian club's board to explore alternative managerial options.
