Senior Arab League and Kuwaiti officials reviewed preparations for upcoming Arab media meetings scheduled to be held in Kuwait in February 2026, officials said Wednesday.
Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League and head of the Media and Communication Sector, met with Kuwaiti Ambassador Talal Khaled Al-Mutairi at Kuwait’s permanent mission to the Arab League as part of preparations for the 104th session of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media and the 22nd meeting of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Information Ministers.
Discussions focused on follow-up to decisions from the 55th ministerial session, including the implementation plan for the Arab Media and Information Literacy Strategy, the role of Arab media in countering terrorism, environmental media, and the Arab Media Excellence Award.
Khattabi praised Kuwait’s role in supporting joint Arab media action and commended its successful hosting of activities marking Kuwait as Arab Media CapitalArab Media Capital for 2025.
