Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) is so close to host the 2034 World Cup tournament after Australia, the country which showed interest in hosting the tournament, withdrew its bid a few hours before the deadline for declarations of interest, FIFA announced on Tuesday.
FIFA said: “We have reached the conclusion not to do so for the 2034 competition."
Saudi Arabia will be the third Arabic country to host the matches of the world cup tournament after Qatar in 2022 and Morocco in 2030.
The 2030 FIFA World Cup, meanwhile, will be hosted by Morocco, Spain and Portugal, with the three opening matches to be played in South America.
