French club RC Lens have officially activated the purchase option for Saudi Arabia international right-back Saud Abdulhamid from AS Roma, securing his services on a permanent deal.
The 26-year-old has signed a long-term contract with Lens running until the summer of 2029, following a successful loan spell in which he impressed the coaching staff with his consistency and tactical flexibility.
Lens confirmed that the decision to make the move permanent was strongly recommended by the technical staff, who highlighted Abdulhamid’s pace, defensive solidity, and ability to operate in multiple roles along the right flank.
Since joining the French side, the Saudi defender has established himself as a key player, helping the club achieve strong results domestically and secure qualification for European competitions.
Abdulhamid previously developed his career in the Saudi Pro League before moving to AS Roma, and his successful transition to Ligue 1 marks another step forward in his European journey.
