KSA booked their place in the quarter-finals of the 2025 Arab Cup after defeating Comoros 3–1 on Friday at Al Bayt Stadium, securing their second consecutive victory in Group B, which also includes Morocco and Oman.
Saudi midfielder Mohammed Kanno starred with a brace, scoring in first-half stoppage time (45+4) and again in the 51st minute.
Salem Al Dawsari added a third goal for the Green Falcons in the 76th minute, sealing the win.
Comoros managed to pull one back through Ibrahim Youssef in the 63rd minute, their first goal in the tournament.
With this result, Saudi Arabia top Group B with six points, followed by Morocco (4 points), Oman (1 point), and Comoros, who remain without a point.
The match marked the first-ever meeting between Saudi Arabia and Comoros at any level.
According to Al-Yaum newspaper, Comoros became the 125th national team faced by Saudi Arabia across all official and friendly competitions.
Despite their earlier loss to Morocco, Comoros earned praise for their bold attacking approach and for scoring their first goal of the tournament, demonstrating their ability to threaten opponents despite the notable technical gap within the group.
Comoros had reached the 2025 Arab Cup after beating Yemen on penalties in the playoff round following a dramatic 4–4 draw in regular time.
