Korean Culture Week 2021... Closer Look into Korean Culture

The Korean Cultural Center will launch tomorrow a Korean Culture Week, where Egyptian people will have an opportunity to experience different aspects of the Korean Culture.

In cooperation with Century Cinema, Fine Arts Sector, and the Cairo Opera House, the Korean Culture Week which will run until 30th October includes the Korean Movie Gala Evening in Cairo, Korean Art Exhibition, and Let's K-Pop in Cairo.

The Korean Movie Gala Evening will begin at 6 p.m. at the Galleria Mall Cinema (Century Cinema) at the Grand Nile Tower Hotel.

A new series of Korean movies including “Moving On", "Birthday", "Maggie", and "Honest Candidate" will be screened over four days until October 24.

Ahmed Shawky Cultural Center in Giza will host the Korean Art Exhibition to be run from 23th to 30 Oct.

The Exhibition will celebrate the Korean traditional and modern arts including folk paintings (Minhwa), handicrafts, traditional Korean paper (Hanji), ceramic, and seashell arts.

The exhibition is scheduled to host a series of art workshops to allow visitors to experience painting and colouring on traditional hand fans and Korean masks, as well as writing on Hanji paper.

Meanwhile, the Opera House's Small Theatre will host the ‘K-Pop competition titled ‘let’s K-Pop in Cairo’ on October 26th. 10 groups in the singing and dancing categories will take part in the competition which will run from 4:00 pm.

Oh Sung-ho, Director of the Korean Cultural Center, said the It is so meaningful to see the growing popularity of K-culture in Egypt noting that the Korean Cultural Center is seeking to resume its public events after the prolonged disrupt due to COVID-19 pandemic.

He invited the hallyu fans in Egypt to enjoy this weeklong hybrid event while leveraging their knowledge about the Korean culture.

Oh Sung-ho expressed the hope that this event as well as all cultural event held by the Center to contribute well in strengthening cultural understanding between Egypt and South Korea.
