The first 2 weeks of the class will be targeted the public audience while the third week will be assigned to the members of the Egyptian Chef Association.
Recently, the ‘K-wave’ which soared on the back of Korean dramas and K-pop is now moving to Korean cuisine and overall Korean lifestyle. Accordingly, Korean food has carved out its own reputation in a global fine dining scene.
For his part, Oh Sungho, Director of the KCC, said that "Koreans pay great attention to food sharing, and this is deeply rooted in the culture of side dishes (Banchan), which are served with meals and shared by everyone sitting at the dining table; most well-known is kimchi, a Korean pickled dish."
In this spirit, the KCC seeks, through establishing this academy, to share Korean food culture with the Egyptian audience while introducing the traditions of preparing and serving food.
