In his speech to mark the 25th anniversary, Jin-Wook praised the distinguished relations between the two countries and expressed his aspiration to enhance cooperation and partnership between South Korea and Egypt in various fields.

The Ambassador affirmed that Cairo would always be in the hearts of Koreans a symbol of freedom and independence, as the Cairo Declaration, issued on November 27, 1943, was the first to grant independence to Korea.

He pointed out that the cooperation relations between the two countries witnessed a huge boom in various fields, as the volume of trade exchange between the two countries increased to about two billion US dollars.

Egypt has also become Korea's main investment destination in Africa, with investments of about $ 600 million.

Moreover, Korean companies export products bearing the name "Made in Egypt" to other countries in Africa and the Middle East, at a value of 700 million dollars annually, as well as make up more than 90% of Egyptian exports in the field of electronics.

Jin-Wook expressed his hope that the comprehensive cooperative partnership between the two countries, which was adopted in conjunction with the historic visit of Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to the Republic of Korea in March 2016, will reach newer heights through the Korean President's visit to Egypt in the near future.

The Ambassador affirmed that Egypt's long-term commitment and great contributions to spreading peace in the Middle East region an inspiration to South Korea.

He stated the Korean government will continue its efforts to achieve complete denuclearization and establish a durable and stable peace regime on the Korean Peninsula.

“Over the past 25 years, relations between the two countries have been consolidated at the official and popular level, and based on this firm foundation, the course of cooperation between the two countries will achieve huge leaps during the next 25 years,” Jin-Wook noted.
