Barcelona's head coach Ronald Koeman has confirmed on Monday that legend Lionel Messi has an important part in the club as his talent will aid the Catalan club.
The humiliating 8-2 quarter-final defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League has left a bitter taste in the mouths of many Barcelona fans, but the Dutchman is simply trying to focus on the task in hand.
The Dutch coach said that he is pleased to have a player like Messi.
"It is a pleasure to have a player like Messi in the team.His qualities will help the team to develop," Koeman told Barcelona's official media channels.
"We can't be compared for our free-kick taking because he has scored so many more than me.I was only at Barcelona for six seasons [laughs]," he added.
"But it is important to have someone who is good at free-kicks and corners in your team,"Koeman noted.
