Know more about cultural events organized by Embassy of India as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’

The Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture (MACIC), Embassy of India, Cairo organized cultural events in collaboration with Egyptian authorities under the theme of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’(AKAM) at Luxor and Aswan. Several activities took place during these events to deepen the cultural ties between India and Egypt. Glimpses of Indian culture were presented under these events. Apart from exhibitions on India and Indian culture, Kathak classical dance, Yoga flash mobs and dance performances on bollywood songs were presented. A large number of people actively participated in these events.

On 4 August 2023, the Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture organised a cultural event at Luxor Cultural Palace, Luxor. The Program Head of the culture region in southern Egypt at Luxor and Director of the Aswan Cultural Palace attended the event. On 6 August 2023, a cultural event was organized at Aswan Cultural Palace, Aswan. The Director of the Aswan Culture Palace and acting General Manager of the Aswan culture branch attended the event. The event was attended by over 250 guests including officials, artists, students, and people from all walks of life. A cultural troupe enthralled the audience with a mesmerizing performance on Bollywood songs. 

The Embassy of India, Cairo hopes that these cultural events will contribute to a greater understanding of Indian culture in Egypt, encourage people to learn more about contemporary India and visit India and strengthen the bonds of India- Egypt friendship further.
