An English newspaper reported on Saturday that Liverpool's head coach Jurgen Klopp decided to impose a private sanction of Egyptian Star Mohamed Salah, after contracting coronavirus.

Salah came under fire during the international break after he was filmed at his brother's wedding failing to adhere to social distancing rules.

Liverpool Echo said that the German coach is considering implementing a private sanction of Mo Salah as he  tested positive for coronavirus while on duty for his country last week and returned to England on Friday after a private plane was chartered to bring him back to London with Arsenal's Mohamed Elneny.

"Klopp, though, says any issue between club and player will stay out of the public domain after admitting it can be difficult to maintain such discipline," the English website reported.

"If he knew [he was going to the wedding] or not, is private," Klopp said. "Honestly, we cannot start giving little pieces of information."

"What I can tell you, in the summer I was in Germany, a friend moved his birthday party only because of me."

"Fifty people attended there and I decided at the last minute not to go – and that was only a birthday party and it was allowed in Germany," Klopp added.

"I said what I said. I did not go to the birthday party and it was really hard for me not to go because everyone was waiting for me. That is what I wanted to explain. It was really hard but these are the situations we are in from time to time."
