Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp said on Tuesday that Diago Jota would be out of the upcoming World Cup.
The World Cup will take place in Qatar in November.
Jota have substituted during Liverpool's 1-0 win over title holders Man City.
"Diago Jota will be out of the upcoming World Cup after sustaining an injury," he said.
He also confirmed that the Portuguese player will be out for a long time.
Liverpool are now gearing up for their Premier League encounter against West Ham United on Wednesday.
