King Mohammed VI of Morocco will receive the national U-20 football team, the newly crowned World Cup champions, in recognition of their historic achievement and outstanding performance that lifted Morocco’s flag high on the world’s biggest football stage.
According to the Moroccan newspaper "Al-Mountakhab," this royal reception marks the culmination of a comprehensive and strategic vision shaped by the King’s guidance, one that has transformed Moroccan football through professionalism, quality, and long-term investment.
From the Mohammed VI Football Academy to the Mohammed VI Complex and modern sports infrastructure across the kingdom, the royal vision has laid the foundation for sustainable sporting excellence.
The newspaper added that this victory extends Morocco’s shining trajectory on the global stage, beginning with the senior national team’s historic semi-final run at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, followed by the Olympic team’s bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Games, and now crowned by this U-20 World Cup title, a gift from the young “Lions of Morocco” to their homeland.
