King Harald V of Norway has officially revealed Norway's national football team’s 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, marking the country’s return to the tournament after a 28-year absence.

The announcement carries historic significance for Norwegian football fans, as it will be their first World Cup appearance since 1998, with expectations and excitement building ahead of the team’s group stage matches in the United States.

The squad features several key names, most notably Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, who will lead the team into the tournament following a standout club career filled with major domestic and European trophies.

Norway will begin its World Cup campaign on June 16 against Iraq in Boston before facing Senegal at MetLife Stadium and concluding the group stage against France later in the month, also in Boston.

King Harald’s involvement in the announcement added a ceremonial touch to a moment that has been widely celebrated across Norway, as the nation prepares for its long-awaited return to football’s biggest stage.
