Serie A giants Juventus officially confirmed that they are under investigation by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) over potential breaches of the organization’s financial regulations.
The Turin-based club revealed the news on Thursday in a formal statement issued alongside the release of its financial report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025.
Juventus stated that it expects disciplinary action from UEFA due to violations of the Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules, sanctions that could include a transfer ban during the 2026–2027 season.
Back on September 18, UEFA had formally notified the club of the proceedings, citing possible irregularities covering the 2022–2023 to 2024–2025 financial periods.
According to the club’s statement, a final decision is anticipated in the spring of next year, which could result in a monetary fine, though reports suggest it is unlikely to be substantial.
The more concerning issue lies on the sporting side, as UEFA could impose restrictions on registering new players in European competitions.
Juventus, however, denied any major breaches of UEFA’s FFP framework, affirming its compliance with the 80% squad cost ratio for 2024 and expressing confidence in meeting the 70% threshold by 2025.
It is worth noting that UEFA’s cost-control system limits player wages, transfer fees, and agent commissions to no more than 70% of a club’s total revenues and player sales profits.
