Supporters of Juventus and Torino have been handed a 10-match away ban following crowd trouble surrounding last month's Turin derby, according to Italian media reports.

The sanctions reportedly include the closure of away sections for Juventus and Torino supporters, along with a ban on the sale of away tickets to residents of the Piedmont and Lombardy regions.

The Serie A derby, played at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, was delayed by more than an hour due to public safety concerns after violent clashes erupted outside the stadium before kickoff.

A 36-year-old Juventus supporter, Marco Leonardo Basoccu, suffered serious head injuries during the disturbances and was hospitalized. The incident prompted Juventus fans to demand that the match be suspended, with supporters even calling captain Manuel Locatelli over to relay their concerns.

The match eventually kicked off at 9:51 p.m. local time instead of the scheduled 8:45 p.m. and ended in a 2-2 draw. Frustrated by the decision to proceed, many Juventus supporters left the away section before the game began.

The result contributed to Juventus missing out on a top-four finish in Serie A, ending the season in sixth place and qualifying for the UEFA Europa League rather than the Champions League.

Basoccu was discharged from a Turin hospital on Tuesday after receiving treatment.

He told reporters that he could not remember how he sustained his injuries.

Juventus supporters have alleged that police tear-gas canisters may have struck him, while local prosecutors continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
