Jürgen Klopp Confirms Germany Move Is Near

Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has confirmed that his long-anticipated return to German football is edging closer, revealing that his appointment as Germany's next head coach could be officially announced within days.

Klopp, who has been heavily linked with the German national team following the 2026 FIFA World Cup, admitted that negotiations have progressed smoothly and that only the formal announcement remains.

"Nothing has been finalized yet, but the talks have gone well and everything is moving in the right direction," Klopp said during an appearance on MagentaTV.

The 59-year-old also confirmed that he has reached an agreement with Red Bull, describing the arrangement as "very, very generous," leaving no significant obstacles to completing the move.

"Practically speaking, nothing stands in the way anymore. We're not far from being able to make the announcement. When the time comes, we'll announce it ourselves. We don't need others constantly jumping the gun," Klopp added.

The former Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool boss suggested that an official decision is expected soon, with Germany's next international fixtures approaching rapidly.

"It should happen within the next few days, ideally. There are only around 60 days until the next international match. At some point, a decision has to be made, and it will be made," he said.

Klopp has been out of management since leaving Liverpool, where he enjoyed one of the most successful spells in the club's history, winning the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.

Before his success in England, Klopp guided Borussia Dortmund to back-to-back Bundesliga titles, ending Bayern Munich's domestic dominance and establishing himself as one of Europe's elite managers.

If appointed, Klopp will take charge of Germany for the first time in his career, with the German Football Association hoping he can lead Die Mannschaft back to the summit of international football following another disappointing World Cup campaign.
