The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicts a slight and temporary drop in temperatures across northern parts of the country, including Greater Cairo and North Upper Egypt, on Sunday, June 7, 2026, with temperatures expected to decrease by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius.

Moderate weather is expected during the early morning hours, while hot conditions will prevail across northern regions, Greater Cairo, and North Upper Egypt during the daytime. Southern Upper Egypt will continue to experience very hot weather.

The weather will feel warmer than actual temperatures due to high humidity levels, which are expected to increase the perceived temperature by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius.

Meteorologists forecast mist forming between 4:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. on roads across northern Egypt, Greater Cairo, the Canal Cities, Central Sinai, and North Upper Egypt. The mist may become dense at times, affecting visibility on some roads.

There is a slight chance of light rainfall, with a probability of around 20 percent, in parts of the northern coastal governorates and northern areas of the Nile Delta at intermittent intervals.

Winds ranging between 30 and 45 kilometres per hour (km/h) are expected to affect parts of Greater Cairo and the Nile Delta. The winds may stir sand and dust in areas of North and South Upper Egypt, South Sinai, the Red Sea Governorate, as well as Salloum and Siwa, potentially reducing horizontal visibility in some locations.

Low clouds are also expected to develop over scattered areas of southern Lower Egypt, Greater Cairo, the Canal Cities, and North Upper Egypt, with a possibility of light drizzle in isolated areas.

Moderate weather is expected during the evening and nighttime hours across most parts of Egypt, while South Upper Egypt will remain relatively warm.

The predicted temperatures for the following cities are 34°C in Cairo, 31°C in Alexandria, 30°C in Marsa Matruh, 39°C in Siwa, 36°C in Sharm El-Sheikh, 36°C in Hurghada, 40°C in Luxor, 42°C in Aswan, 38°C in Sohag, 36°C in Assiut, and 43°C in the New Valley.
