On Thursday, Peru’s football federation announced that Jorge Fossati is no longer the head coach of the first men’s national team.
Peru won only one of six matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Fossati’s departure came by “mutual agreement,” the federation added.
The team are also at the bottom of their group at the qualifiers with seven points.
The top six in the group will have a direct move in the tournament, while the seventh-place team will play an international playoff.
The successor of Fossati is not announced yet.
