Jordan's King Abdullah II has called upon the international community to bolster the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) to continue its service provision in Gaza.

The monarch reiterated the urgency of an immediate cessation of warfare in Gaza, safeguarding civilians, and ensuring uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid on Monday.

He emphasized the importance of facilitating the international organizations' humanitarian duties in Gaza without hindrance.

Earlier, Philippe Lazzarini, the Commissioner-General of UNRWA, highlighted the blockade on Gaza, restricting food, water, and fuel supply, essentially punishing two million individuals, predominantly women and children.

Lazzarini pointed out the organization's inability to complete its operations in the region, stressing the crucial need for continuous and uninterrupted aid flow.

Simultaneously, Israeli forces have been conducting ongoing raids and invasions in the West Bank cities, aligning with a broad and bloody Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip, following Hamas's initiation of "Operation Al-Qassam Storm." This was met with Israel's "Operation Iron Sword."

The death toll from the Israeli bombardment on the Gaza Strip has reached 8,306, with over 21,000 injuries, while 1,870 individuals, including hundreds of children, remain under the rubble.

On the other hand, the West Bank saw 121 fatalities. In Israel, the conflict has claimed over 1,400 lives, including 312 military personnel, while Hamas has captured more than 200 Israelis.
