Culture Minister Mustafa Rawashdeh said Jordan’s cultural sector has achieved significant progress under King Abdullah II, strengthening national identity and documenting the country’s national narrative.

Rawashdeh said nearly 2,000 trainees joined arts training centers across the kingdom in visual arts, music, theater and calligraphy. The ministry also upgraded several libraries nationwide, issued 126 new titles and distributed 100,000 books to institutions and individuals.

He added that work is underway to develop visual national narratives for each governorate, with projects already completed or in progress in Ajloun, Jerash and Karak.

Among key initiatives, Rawashdeh cited the “Jordan Culture Cities” program to decentralize cultural activities, a national cultural heritage thesaurus project, cultural tourism routes linking heritage sites, and new centers dedicated to traditional musical instruments.

The projects align with Jordan’s National Culture Strategy 2023–2027 and aim to preserve heritage while expanding cultural participation nationwide.
