The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) in Jordan announced the launch of satellite internet services through Starlink, a subsidiary of company SpaceX.

The commission revealed the commencement of commercial satellite internet services after obtaining all necessary approvals and licenses from the TRC.

The Chairman of the TRC's Board of Commissioners Bassam Al-Sarhan, said during a meeting with media representatives, "Today we are launching another service related to the telecommunications sector in Jordan. This is an important milestone and is expected to improve coverage."

He added that the launch of this service comes within the framework of efforts to enhance digital inclusion in the Kingdom, noting that satellite internet technology is an important solution for bridging the digital gap between urban and rural areas.

He explained that this step is pivotal in supporting the royal vision aimed at achieving social justice and economic development by providing equal opportunities for access to advanced telecommunications services, with a particular focus on areas that suffer from limited traditional internet connection options. This reinforces the principle of digital justice adopted by the Kingdom.
