Chelsea delivered an emphatic 4–1 victory over Aston Villa on Wednesday evening at Villa Park, in Matchweek 29 of the 2025–26 Premier League season.

The hosts made a dream start when Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz opened the scoring just two minutes into the match, giving Aston Villa an early advantage in front of their home crowd.

Chelsea gradually regained control and found their equalizer in the 35th minute through João Pedro, who finished a well-worked move to bring the London side back into the contest. The Brazilian striker struck again deep into first-half stoppage time, scoring in the 45+6 minute to hand Chelsea a 2–1 lead heading into the break.

The visitors continued their dominance in the second half. Cole Palmer extended Chelsea’s lead in the 55th minute with a composed finish, putting the Blues firmly in control.

João Pedro then completed a memorable night by scoring his third goal in the 64th minute, sealing his hat-trick and Chelsea’s convincing victory.

With the result, Chelsea climb to fifth place in the Premier League standings with 48 points. Aston Villa remain fourth with 51 points, missing an opportunity to strengthen their position in the race for European qualification.
