FC Barcelona have successfully completed the signing of Portuguese defender João Cancelo from Saudi side Al Hilal, beating off competition from Inter Milan during the current winter transfer window.
Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Barcelona will acquire Cancelo for a fee of €4 million, with the 31-year-old joining the Catalan club on loan until the end of the current season.
Italian outlet Sky Italia also revealed that Cancelo had received an offer from Inter Milan but chose to turn it down in favor of a return to Barcelona, whom he considered his top priority.
Cancelo previously wore the Barcelona shirt during the 2024 season, when he joined the club on loan from Manchester City.
During that spell, he made 42 appearances across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing five assists.
Since moving to Al Hilal at the start of last season, Cancelo featured in six matches, registering one goal and two assists.
