Portuguese defender João Cancelo etched his name into football history after helping FC Barcelona secure the La Liga title, becoming the first player ever to win four of Europe’s top five domestic leagues.
The 31-year-old added the Spanish league crown to an impressive collection of titles that already includes the Premier League with Manchester City F.C., the Serie A with Juventus F.C., and the Bundesliga with FC Bayern Munich.
Cancelo has also won the Portuguese league title with S.L. Benfica, further highlighting his success across Europe’s elite competitions.
The only major European league missing from his résumé is the French league, leaving Cancelo one step away from completing a remarkable achievement by winning all five of Europe’s top domestic championships.
Known for his versatility and attacking style from defense, Cancelo continues to establish himself as one of the standout full-backs of his generation.
