Jey Uso reached a new single career milestone, alongside his historical tag team run with his brother Jimmy Uso as the Usos, after capturing his first single title in his WWE career.
Uso defeated Bron Breakker to win the Intercontinental Title, in last night's WWE Monday Night Raw.
Uso earned his title shot by winning a #1 contender’s Intercontinental Title tournament that took place on Raw a few weeks ago.
Uso ended the 51-day run of Breakker as a WWE Intercontinental Champion.
Uso made history as a result. Uso and Rikishi became only the second father-son in the history of the WWE to hold the Intercontinental Championship simultaneously after “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig and his son, Curtis Axel, in their accomplishment.
Rikishi won the title in June 2000 but lost it 13 days later which was his only single championship reign in WWE.
Mr. Perfect held the Intercontinental Championship twice, from April 1990 to August 1991. His son Axel won the title at Payback in June 2013 after defeating Wade Barrett and The Miz in a triple threat match.
Axel lost the title to Big E on a November Raw episode, ending his 155-day reign.
