After screening at this year’s Overlook Film Festival, Jessica Rothe’s latest movie, "Affection," finally set a release date.

Written and directed by BT Meza in his feature debut, the pic will hit select theaters on May 8 via Brainstorm Media.

Joseph Cross and Julianna Layne also star in the project.

In the film, Rothe plays an amnesiac woman trapped in a neverending nightmare.

The film’s synopsis reads, "Afflicted by a mysterious condition that resets her memory, Ellie becomes trapped in a cyclical nightmare with a man who claims to be her husband. She soon must uncover the horrifying truth of her existence—before she forgets it all again."

"Affection" is produced by Meza alongside Bay Dariz, Austin Walk, and J.P. Ouellette.

The film is just the latest in Rothe’s career as a scream queen, having made a name for herself in the meta slasher Happy Death Day and its 2019 sequel.

"Affliction" is the actress' second genre film to hit theaters this year, after starring in the sci-fi mystery project "Imposters".

Next up she’s also set to star in "River," a new survival slasher that puts her up against the "Evil Dead" star Jane Levy.

That’s not all that’s in store for Rothe. She is set to return for the third film in the "Happy Death Day" franchise, reteaming her with director Christopher Landon for the bigger, boldest entry in the series yet.
