Jennifer Lopez to Star in Netflix’s Sci-Fi Thriller "Atlas"

After signing her recent first-look deal with Netflix, American Hip-hop icon Jennifer Lopez is already busy with developing that slate.

Sources revealed that Lopez will star and produce Netflix sci-fi thriller "Atlas" with the "Rampage" Brad Peyton directing. Aron Eli Coleite is writing the most recent draft of the script, which is based on a Leo Sardarian original script.

Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell will produce for Safehouse Pictures along with Peyton and Jeff Fierson for ASAP Entertainment, with Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina producing alongside Lopez through Nuyorican Productions. Courtney Baxter will exec produce with Matt Schwartz co-producing.

The movie centered around Atlas, a woman fighting for the fate of humanity in a future, where an AI soldier is determined the only way to end war is by ending humanity. To outthink the rogue AI, Atlas must do the one thing she fears most, working with another AI.

Lopez can be seen next in the Universal rom-com "Marry Me" and also in the Lionsgate action-comedy "Shotgun Wedding". Both movies are set to be released in 2022.
