British Health Minister Sajid Javid said that the government will not impose any new restrictions related to the Coronavirus (known also as COVID-19) before the new year.
Javid stressed the need for "people to remain vigilant" when participating in New Year's celebrations, and to undergo Corona tests before attending events.
He added: "Celebrate in open spaces if you can, but if you are in a closed place, work to secure ventilation."
Javid did not rule out the possibility of further action in January 2022 and said the government would "see" whether the data indicated the need for new measures and restrictions.
"We look at the data on a daily basis, and this has not changed during the Christmas period, but there will be no further actions before the New Year," he stressed.
On Monday, Britain reported a record number of new cases of COVID-19 over Christmas, which comes on December 25th.
The newly reported infection reached 113 thousand cases, and 98,515 cases were recorded during the past 24 hours.
However, the British Statistics Office reported last Friday that more than 1.7 million people across the United Kingdom contracted corona from December 13 to 19.
The country has been breaking records for infections for several days while the Ministry of Health expects that the number of infections with the "Omicron" mutant may exceed one million by the end of December.
