Japan and United States (US) intend to strengthen their security partnership with Britain, Australia and the Philippines, according to Japanese government sources.
The sources added,“in light of the close security relations, the five countries will increase joint exercises in the Indo-Pacific region and enhance cooperation in the field of defense technologies," according to Japanese News Agency "Kyodo".
It is expected that the new partnership will be agreed upon at a meeting between Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and US President Joe Biden during the upcoming summit in Washington, DC on April 10.
