Japanese Foreign Minister (FM) Yoko Kamikawa informed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that Tokyo will support the peace plan proposed by Ukraine to end the war with Russia.

Japanese FM announced that Japan will participate in the leadership of a working group on radiation and nuclear safety, one of the ten points in the "peace formula" in Ukraine. The plan also calls for the immediate withdrawal of all Russian forces.

Kamikawa also met with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during her unannounced trip to Ukraine and told him that Japan is working on documents related to bilateral cooperation with the aim of signing them at an international conference in Tokyo on February 19, according to the Japanese Foreign Ministry.
