The axe famously wielded by Jack Nicholson in the classic 1980 movie "The Shining" has sold for a hefty price at auction.
GottaHaveRockandRoll auction house sold the prop for $175K to a big fan who beat out 12 buyers.
This is not the first time that the item has been up for sale as it was previously bought for $61K.
The prop is made out of foam and resin and comes displayed in a 25 x 2.5 x 40.5 shadow box frame with photos from the movie.
The axe was featured in several scenes in the classic movie, most notably the famous scene Nicholson's character Jack Torrance smashed a bathroom door before exclaiming the iconic line: "Here's Johnny!".
The scene has been referenced and featured in promotional materials so often over the years that many people who haven't seen the movie are still very familiar with it.
It was also used for the crime scene when Jack murdered Dick Hallorann (Scatman Crothers).
"The Shining" is based on Stephen King's 1977 novel of the same name. It has some differences from the novel, but the gist of the story is similar.
It follows an aspiring writer and recovering alcoholic, who alongside his family, Wendy (Shelley Duvall) and Danny (Danny Lloyd), accept a job as caretaker of an isolated hotel in the Colorado Rockies during the off-season.
However, isolation takes its toll on Jack and the malevolent spirits in the hotel only proceed to further push him off the deep end, leaving his family fighting for their lives when he finally snaps.
