On Sunday, Mayu Iwatani defeated IWGP Women's Champion Mercedes Moné to be crowned the new champion.
The match took place at Stardom's All Star Grand Queendom.
Iwatani and Moné exchanged a lot of arguments in different press conferences before they developed into physical escalations.
It was reported that this match was the final for Moné with New Japan Pro Wrestling and Stardom and she agreed to extend her contract.
The former WWE superstar was advertized for the forthcoming NJPW show Resurgence next month.
