The “King Abdullah Sports City Stadium (Al-Jawhara Al-Moshia)” will host the Jeddah Derby between Al Ittihad and Al Ahli tonight as part of Round 8 of the Saudi Pro League.
Al Ittihad currently sit in 8th place in the league table with 11 points, having won 3 matches, drawn 2, and lost 2.
Meanwhile, Al Ahli sit in 5th place with 13 points, having won 3 matches and drawn 4, and remains undefeated so far.
Al Ahli aim to secure a victory today to stay firmly in the race for finishing the season in at least the top four.
On the other hand, Al Ittihad hope to regain their winning spirit after failing to win its last four league matches, losing at home to Al Nassr and Al Hilal, and drawing away against Al Fayha and Al Khaleej.
According to the Saudi newspaper Al Maidan Al Riyadi, Al Ahli have historically held the upper hand over Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League since its launch in the 2008–2009 season.
