Italian Foreign Minister (FM) Antonio Tajani stressed the urgent need for a swift resolution to end the ongoing war in Gaza, according to the Italian news agency AKI.
In remarks made on Monday during the launch of the "Italy in 10 Selfies" exhibition, organized by the Simbola Foundation at the Farnesina Palace, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tajani expressed hope for a quick resolution to the conflict, which would bring an end to the war in Gaza, secure the return of hostages, and alleviate the suffering of civilians.
Italian President Sergio Mattarella had emphasized, during the 17th Ambassadors’ Conference on December 16, that for Italy, the true future perspective lies in the two-state solution for Palestine.
Tajani also expressed hope that 2025 would be "the year of peace for the Middle East," as reported by AKI.
