Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declined an invitation from US President Donald Trump to attend the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, scheduled to take place today in Egypt.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, Netanyahu expressed gratitude to President Trump for the personal invitation but explained that he would not be able to attend due to the summit's proximity to the Jewish holiday.
Prime Minister Netanyahu also conveyed his deep appreciation for President Trump’s ongoing efforts to expand the circle of peace in the region, praising what he described as “peace through strength.”
While Netanyahu will not be present, Israel’s stance on regional peace and security is expected to remain part of the broader discussion, as world leaders gather in Egypt to witness the signing of a historic agreement aimed at ending the conflict in Gaza.
